Nov. 16, 2015 Exec. Session

Town of Princeton, Mass. – Nov. 16, 2015
Executive Session Minutes  -  BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Executive Session
6:36 PM  Selectmen took roll call vote in regular session and opened executive session. Nina explained comments from the Fieldstone Farm Working Group. Two property owners in the vicinity of the farm have expressed opposition to a public safety building at the site. The F.F. Group wants town to pay market value for Parcel C as per their appraisal of $295,000 for the 7.9 acres (2-3 houselots). One proposal is for Parcel C as ideal for Pub. Saf. Bldg. Another proposal is adding to Parcel A with adjoining APR or CR land. BOS must decide how much they’d be willing to pay for a parcel for town use. Jon F. mentioned that some residents were still angry about the Four Corners project. The F.F. Working Group is reluctant to apportion any of the F.F. land for municipal use.
Group decided to meet tomorrow, Nov. 17 at 4 PM with the F.F. Working Group to negotiate for Parcel C for municipal use. Nina suggested that one person be designated to serve as facilitator and spokesperson on behalf of the BOS, to stay focused, as selectmen need to project a unified front and a single voice. The Selectmen agreed to have Nina as the spokesperson. Edith pointed out that a fair offer would be an additional $50,000—added to the town’s contribution of $250,000 is analogous to paying $300,000, the appraised market value.

7:30 PM  Selectmen closed the executive session with Stan making a motion to adjourn, Jon seconded and in roll call vote they adjourned with Jon, Edith and Stan each saying “aye.”

Respectfully submitted,  Marie N. Auger, administrative assistant
